How our pages are made.
Where the numbers come from
Every GST rate on this site is extracted from the official CBIC notifications by deterministic parsing — software that reads the legal text literally, never a language model guessing. Each rate row stores the notification number, its date and the effective date, and those appear on every page. The code master comes from the GST portal's HSN/SAC directory. Our full source list is on the sources page.
Where AI is used — and where it isn't
AI never writes a rate, a code or legal text. It is used for two things: drafting the plain-English explanations that sit next to the official descriptions, and powering the search that maps everyday words (“steel water bottle”) to tariff entries. Every AI-drafted explanation and search synonym goes through review — an adversarial AI checking pass against the official text, then human approval — before it is shown. Unreviewed content stays hidden.
Review
Pages are reviewed by the FindMyHSN editorial team at Velozity Global Solutions. We are in the process of appointing an independent practising Chartered Accountant as named reviewer; until then, no page claims CA sign-off, and everything we publish is verifiable against the cited notification in one click.
Updates and corrections
A daily watcher monitors CBIC for new rate notifications; our goal is to reflect any change within 48 hours, and every change lands on the rate changes log with its source. Every page has a Report an error button that goes straight to our review queue; confirmed errors are corrected and logged.
What this site is not
FindMyHSN is a reference, not tax advice. Classification can depend on facts about your exact product that no website can know — for borderline cases, verify with your tax advisor before filing.
